Q: What is franchising?
A: Franchising is a long-term cooperative relationship between two entities - a franchisor and one or more franchisees - that is based on an agreement in which the franchisor provides a licensed privilege to the franchisee to operate the business. The franchisor grants the franchisee the right to use a developed concept, including trademarks and brand names, production, service and marketing methods and the entire business operation model, for a fee.
The product, method or service being marketed is usually identified by the franchisor's brand name, and the holder of the privilege (franchisee) is often given access to a defined geographical area for a defined period of time.
Q: How much money do I need?
A: One of the main benefits of franchising is the significantly reduced costs for starting a business. A Parker Finch ManagementSM Franchise is no different. The reduced costs are due to our systems, procedures, and branding, which often takes several years to develop, are already in place. To startup a new management company without the systems, manuals, and guidance that Parker Finch ManagementSM Franchises receive can cost 3 or 4 times as much money.
Q: How can I come up with the money?
A: Our Finance Team works with our franchise award candidates to find the appropriate means necessary to start your company. Whether it be through a Home Equity Line of Credit, a small business loan, or an outside investor, there are many ways to fund your dream.
Q: What experience do I need to have?
A: Our franchise owners have superior operational, marketing, sales, budget oversight, and managerial skills as well as having the ability to work well with people.
Q: What is a UFOC?
A: UFOC stands for Uniform Franchise Offering Circular. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires all franchisors to submit a UFOC to all serious franchise candidates. The FTC Rule requires franchisors provide the UFOC to the prospective franchisee at the earlier of the first personal meeting or 10 business days before the franchisee signs an agreement or pays any money.
It is very important for potential franchisees to thoroughly read and understand the UFOC of a company they are considering investing in so that they are completely aware of the risks.
Q: How will the corporate staff support me and my franchise?
A: At Parker Finch ManagementSM Headquarters we are dedicated to making our franchisees successful. You will go through an initial training program which will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to start your franchise and be successful in the community management industry.
